AV deploy from EPO Server to client nodes problem

guys

i have a problem in deploying the VSE8.5 from the console(epo server) to the client nodes

i installed the epo 4.0+patch7 and VSE8.5 and Mcafee agent 4.0 on the EPO server

i then tried to push the agent to the client node and it succeded but when im trying to push the VSE8.5 it seems to be failing

when i go to the node to enforce new policies it says that it fails in downloading Uninst.exe   and the mcafee agent is installed but not showing on the tray of the client

so is there is any step i seem to forget it to deploy the AV to the client node ???

please help!!!!

Re: AV deploy from EPO Server to client nodes problem

Hi,

please first make sure that the McAfee Agent is able to regularly do the asci to the ePO server. Then please create a VirusScan deployment client task so the agent downloads it and executes it.

The detailed deployment client task log is in McScript.log residing under \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\Common Framework\Db. Please trace how the task goes in here.

(what operating system does the test client have?)

Re: AV deploy from EPO Server to client nodes problem

You should see an entry for the VirusScan Enterprise where the Type column shows "Install". This means that the product is in the Master Repository and can be selected in a client deployment task. If there is not a Type like that, then you need to check-in the VirusScan package using the Check in Package action button.

The same goes for the McAfee Agent, except normally this is checked in by the time of ePO installation already and you only need to check in again, when there is a new version of the agent.
