5.9.1 Hotfix EPO-87800 or 5.10.0 and Update 6

Jump to solution
We are on 5.9.1 and have been advised not to update by support. Release notes recommend updating to at least Hotfix EPO-87800 or 5.10.0 then Update 6. Could you provide clarity?

I just got on a call with support Sunday regarding 5.9.1 upgrade path.

They suggest update to 5.10 wait for a few days then update to update 6.

Make sure your older agent version is supported prior to update to 5.10

What was the reasoning behind not advising to upgrade to 5.10?  That 5.9.1 hotfix is a java vulnerability hotfix - see SB10300.

Looking into it more, I just learned that our Windows 2k3 and 2008 non-R2 servers may require us to stay on 5.9.1 if 5.10 does not support them.

Does anyone have information on whether 5.10 supports Win2k3 and 2k8 non-R2 servers?

The epo version itself doesn't necessarily matter - it is the agent/point product extension versions, whether they can support those versions.  The latest agent extension will support lower versions of agents, and for VSE (I believe patch 4 is supported on those?) latest extension will also support lower versions of vse.

DE 7.2.9.11
VSE 8.8.0.1528 and 2114
VirusScan Patches 7 and 13
ePO 5.9.1 build 251

VSE is what we have on 2k3 and 2k8 non-R2 servers.

@cdinet already answered your query. Also DE 7.2.5 is the minimum supported version for EPO 5.10.

So you can upgrade to EPO 5.10
