upgrade extension

Jump to solution

Hi all,

how to find some extension ? some of my epo 5.9.1 extension can be upgrade via software manager but some have no package (usually only release notes), i tried looking in product download mcafee site but no result, i have to upgrade because it's hindering my upgrade epo plan, and the weird is that either the team support and me as we running the compatibility products check there's none/blank/ ok to upgrade,
but when we proceed to the upgrade step (after bring down the services and else) and comes to the "build in" compatibility check it shows more than 36 or less extensions being not up to dates or require to removed,

i have attached the files of extension list (one from "build in" check and other from support team using epo browser product list

Hi all,
Just a note to call out this article:
KB94079

Some of the extensions as discussed above are only available from support, please make sure to contact the correct/appropriate product team to request them.
Explain you are upgrading ePO 5.10 to CU and quote that article.

An Important note to call out:

IMPORTANT:

  • McAfee requests that you make sure that all your extensions are the latest, before you try to install ePO 5.10 Update 10.
  • In case you miss updating any extension that has a dependency on the Tomcat upgrade, the ePO update tool prompts you to update that extension.

Related article: KB88790 - How to upgrade extensions in ePO when those extensions are in use

List of extensions that have a dependency on Tomcat v9 upgrade
The following table contains the product extensions and the minimum versions that are supported with ePO 5.10 Update 10 and later.
....

It then goes on to list extensions to collect and use in this operation.

Please be aware if your extension in not in that list it does not have the above mentioned dependancy on Tomcat v9.
If you get an issue with an extension not in that list you should update the ‘Product Compatibility List’ (PCL) see the above mentioned article for steps to update the PCL.
If this does not help you then please contact support.

Re: upgrade extension

Hi All,

we finally getting done with upgrade epo 5.9.1 to 5.10 after getting through 3 errors (DB account ownership), very tricky indeed upgrading epo in cluster environment, and for the extension , some we removed and some the support guy give us the rest extension that doesn't show up on software manager or product download grant number sites,

as for now we have not yet update the ePO CU, so still basic ePO 5.10, but i'm curious why the support said at the moment the stable or best CU will be CU 9 not the latest CU 10, is any bug or very tricky update CU 10?

thansk again
