epo 5.9 splash page states McAfee Foundation Services 5.9

McAFee Support, We recently patched a vulnerability in our ePo database SQL Server 2012 instance as well as the following vulnerable issues: Disabled TLS 1.0/1.1, Explicitly enabled TLS 1.2 Updated Registry to disable DES, NULL, RC2, and RC4 ciphers, Updated Registry to address Meltdown/Spectre issues Update local .admx file to enable newest Local Group Policy new features on the OS itself. But then I reboot, got the McAfee Foundation Services 5.9 splash page with the following errors at the bottom: ServerInformation - Dependent plug-in EPOCore failed with initialization error MCPSRVER1000 - Dependent plug-in coreCatalog failed with initialization error PostInstallXP - Dependent plug-in epoLicEnt failed with initialization error ENDP_GS_1000 - Dependent plug-in PostInstallXP failed with initialization error AssetCore - Dependent plug-in ComputerMgmt failed with initialization error DXLBrokerMgmt - Dependent plug-in DataChannel failed with initialization error EPOAGENTMETA - Dependent plug-in ProductDeployment failed with initialization error ENDP_FW_META - Dependent plug-in ENDP_GS_1000 failed with initialization error udlp - Dependent plug-in DataChannel failed with initialization error mne - Dependent plug-in DataChannel failed with initialization error EIManagement - Dependent plug-in DataChannel failed with initialization error EEGO - Dependent plug-in DataChannel failed with initialization error InstallHelper - Dependent plug-in EPOCore failed with initialization error I tested the database connection in https://epo:8443/core/config-auth and Tested Successfully/ What else should I check? A prompt response is appreciated.

Most likely that changed some of the ciphers that epo and sql are using.  Refer to KB's 91296, 91304, 91298, 91726, 91115.  I know some of those refer to epo 5.10, but if you have the required ciphers and protocols enabled on both epo and sql servers that 5.10 requires, it will also work for 5.9 and you will be in a position to upgrade later with no cipher issues.

This sounds like one of two things. The first is that the services are still coming up after a reboot. I've seen a similar page in regards to this.

 

The second is that the ePO service is stopped. Have you verified all three services are going?

Had to restore TLS 1.1 to get to work. We are planning an upgrade to 5.10 in the fall. Plan is to address the TLS issues at that point. Thanks for the help.
