I found the issue, now that I found the log file.

was running the wrong software. could not connect to the events DB which of course did not exist yet.

Now I got the right software, and moving forward.

Hello,

Can you please upload the EPOUpdater Log, which should be located in %temp%\McAfeeLogs folder. We can view this for you.

Also in regards to password, yes you have to enter it manually, everything else will be retrieved from the EPO db.properties file.

Can you also please run UDL Test and tell us about the result.

How to test SQL database connectivity using a test.udl file:

Also since you are upgrading from 5.3 to 5.10, please check database compatibility mode. There is possibility that database is running in older compat. mode which may not compatible with 5.10 and we need to raise compat mode.
