ePO policies comparison (Mac and Windows)

Jump to solution

I have yet to assign policies to my newly added Mac systems. How do I know if the current policies I have applied to Windows systems would be compatible with Mac OS systems?

Thanks you!

Hello @ddinz

Thanks for your post.

Policies worked on basis of Extensions.

If the extensions are checked-in and running then policies will work.

Also please make sure that you have checked in the ENS for MAC license extension.

Mac and Windows use the same ENS platform extension, correct?

Also, if I were to apply the same policies and rules enforced on existing Windows systems to Mac systems, would there be no compatibility issues? Or should I create separate policies for Mac systems? I'm really a newbie here 🙂 Many thanks!

Hello @ddinz

Thanks for your reply.

Nopes, It will work fine.

If you want to make specific changes for specific machine in that case you can duplicate the policy and assign it to the machine.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks for this! Just one last question, if the user who made an epo policy is already disabled, would the policy still take effect? Is there a way to change the policy owner? Thank you!
