ePO - VirusScan Console interaction

Jump to solution

Is it possible to make VirusScan Console content more dependant of actual settings?

In my case, the Workstation support Crew, which might support both corporate and standalone machines, complaining the multiple update records in the Console are annoying and demands to pay extra attention.

The desired behaviour is:

- If the VirusScan is not managed by ePO, the Console should display "Auto Update" data only;

- If the VirusScan is managed by ePO and disable auto update option is set, the Console should display policy managed data only;

- If the VirusScan is managed by ePO and disable auto update option is unset, the Console should display both "Auto Update" and policy managed data;

This is the only thing that is not possible:

- If the VirusScan is managed by ePO and disable auto update option is set, the Console should display policy managed data only;

The option is there for the ability to run a local update if the need exists, whether it is scheduled or not.  The fact that epo managed tasks are showing should be sufficient info to determine whether the system is managed or not.  As you are aware, showing the managed tasks is controlled by the VSE general options policy.

When  we ship AV package, we don't know whether you will be using it as standalone or ePO managed. There is no option to hide default 'AutoUpdate task'. You can either enable or disable it from ePO but can't hide.
