We have an ePO server that is running version 188.8.131.52. We have successfully updated most of our client systems to Agent version 184.108.40.206 but the ePO server itself is still reporting its own agent at version 220.127.116.110. I have tried deploying the Agent from ePO and installing the Framepkg with the /install=agent and /forceinstall switches (this fails).
Am I dealing with some sort of versioning conflict? I know there are later versions of ePO available, but we aren't quite ready to upgrade.
You would need to look at the agent install logs to see why it is failing. They would be located in windows\temp\mcafeelogs (frminst and ma msi log). For local attempts the logs would be under %temp%\mcafeelogs directory.
If you go to the command prompt (run as admin) and change directory to the agent install directory where frminst.exe is located, run this:
frminst /forceuninstall and remove the older agent. You should then be able to install the newer one. If that fails, you can download the removal tool from the McAfee download site - just search for removal.
