Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

Hi,

ePO checks to see if the database keystore can be decrypted, if that check has problems then that is the message you would see.
Weird it can be fixed by reboot. You might want to check the file system integrity perhaps or look at the orion log for more information.
Otherwise, this may need further discussion with McAfee support through opening a service request.

A couple of KB articles for reference, when searching the Knowlege base via the service portal for the phrase 'DB server key check failed':

KB71125 - Warning: DB Server Key Check Failed
KB92859 - Unable to log on to the ePO console after configuring Network Security Platform integration

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

Hi,

What version of ePO are you using? If you reboot the machine then how long it takes for the issue to come back.

Do you have Mvision migration extension installed to ePO server? Is the issue resolves if you uninstall Mvision migration extension?

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

Thanks for reply

I am using McAfee 5.10 update 6 and we are not using mvision extension but we are using NSP extension  9.2 as recently NSM 10.x released so we suspect on that old extension and will fix on nsp 10.x

I will provide the status if the issue resolve to upgrade the NSP extension.

Once again thanks for your post and help

thank you

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

Hi mukesh13m,
This thread was opened to investigate the previous message that was reported, that message being:
"DB Server Key Check Failed"

What you see now and report in the log data (above) reports:
"An exception occurred while communication with gti"
A communication matter so not the original dB key message.

Please do create a new, separate thread (or call support if you wish) to look into what generates that GTi message.

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

The gti messages have nothing to do with this, so they can be ignored for now or dealt with later.  When did this issue start and what changed?  Something had to mess with the keystore files.  Did you restore epo at any time?  What are the contents of the server\keystore directory?  It is important to know what changed, even if it seems insignificant.

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

Hi,

I did not change anything except upgraded the NSP extension as mentioned above KB solution but seems like the issue still occurred after a week- Also I have investigated the logs which I mentioned above after the issue occurred.

Re: ePO Server - DB Server Key Check Failed

I would suggest opening a ticket with McAfee so we can look at logs.
