Re: ePO 5.3.0 isn't updating clients

Jump to solution

My 5.0.2 test systems have no problems getting DAT updates through client tasks, so you could set up a recurring client task as a stopgap.

,

Hi,

Can't you please show me how you created those tasks?

You simply created a Product Update client task and assigned to all clients?

How do you configure the time that this task will run? Did you disabled the AutoUpdate default task and Global Updating?

There should be an easy way to manage that default task to just change the time it runs...

     - Yeah.

     - You schedule a client task.  Creating a time to execute is part of creating the client task.  I do have AutoUpdate and Global Updating both disabled.

Thanks for the fast reply!

Can you please show me how to schedule a client task? I'm a little bit lost here...

On Server Tasks I didn't found nothing to run a client task...

Check the ePO 5.3 Product Guide:

https://kc.mcafee.com/resources/sites/MCAFEE/content/live/PRODUCT_DOCUMENTATION/25000/PD25504/en_US/...

Page 148 has a section on scheduling client tasks.

Page 209 starts a longer section on client tasks, including how you create them.  It also talks about ePO 5.3's deployment process (which frankly I don't really use).

I've open a support case for this problem.

McAfee support told me that my server (with 6GB of RAM) isn't supported. Need at least 8GB.

Since I can't change the server at the moment, I will stay with solution.

Thank you all for your time.

The RAM is less than optimal but should not effect this.

Question (since I saw the install in the red-box in the screen cap):  Are to trying to push the INSTALL to systems that already have VSE?  If so, this will not work.  You will have to use the patch only to update your clients.

New client task assignment>>McAfee agent>>Product Update>>Create new Task>>Select Package Type >>DAT

Run push this task to your client machine (not updating DAT)..

I do agree -opening case with support.

As far I know, if Global updating is enabled. We don't need Product update client task.
