ePO 5.10 - Evaluation

Hi everyone,

We're currently evaluating ePO as our security orchestration software and part of the evaluation involves me setting up a POC environment and demoing it to my boss.  I'm just wondering if I'll be able to check-in and deploy software such as VSE and Endpoint Security Adaptive Threat Protection despite not having a license for ePO or any of the software I'd like to deploy.

Also, if there exists a guide which would walk me through my first software deployment, it would be very much appreciated if someone could point me to it.  On the surface it seems simple enough.  Check in software and then create a task to deploy it.  Is there more to it or is the process really that automated?  I've read about extensions which seem to play a part in package deployment.

TIA for the help.

Erik

@phatrik

To check in VSE or ATP or any other product, you will need to have an active grant number. However, if you are using a trial version of ePO, you can download the products from the software manager. I would like you to go through the product guide which would help you better.

Re: ePO 5.10 - Evaluation

If VSE or ENS doesn't show as an available option to download in the eval version of epo, you may also have to sign up for a trial version of one of those products.

Re: ePO 5.10 - Evaluation

Hi,

I am in the same situation and would like to know if using a trial version of ePolicy with a trial version of VSE is possible?

I have downloaded a trial version of epolicy 5.10 and also a trial of 'McAfee Endpoint Security with Adaptive Threat detection -- epo Managed 10.6.0'  from the following location - https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-gb/downloads/trials.html?pid=endpoint-security

I understand installation products directly through the product catalog is not possible as it requires a license key. Can you please send a link to how to do this manually with the trial products above. The links which have been provided by @vnaidu  do not work.

Also, can i quickly ask if VSE 8.8 works on Server 2016?

many thanks

Re: ePO 5.10 - Evaluation

VirusScan is not an option on the free trials download page, unfortunately.  And whether it is supported on 2016 or not can be found in kb51111.  KB51109 is the master KB for supported environments for our products.

To use the ens free trial that you downloaded, you can check it into the master repository and also check in any extensions under software, extensions in the main menu.  The epo product guide will instruct for how to check in products.
