Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

We just started to push out 5.05 and have the same issues. If we push it from ePO it will fail, but if we download the frame package and install locally it's fine.  The push from epo fails instantly, and nothing is logged on the endpoint. The log message in epo just shows expired after 10 seconds...

Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

We're still pushing out 5.04 and it doesn't even work with a frame package over there. Nothing starts on the laptop, no process no nothing.

Winver of the laptop in question;

Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

Try this change in group policy:

Computer Management -> System -> Internet Communication Management -> Internet Communication settings -> Turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update

Set to disabled. Had similar issues pushing McAfee Agent and VSE installs/patches to systems until someone from McAfee recommended this to me. Made this change and it fixed everything.

Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

Still having problems, a month later.

I don't want to mess with our root certificates atm since we're kinda understaffed, would prefer to take less risks

Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

If you don't have the root certificates none of the new products will update through deployment.  It's been a requirement for about a year now.  You have to either update your root stores with the certificates or disable the GPO mentioned above if it's enabled.  The DoD STIGs used to require that be set but when it became a requirement for HBSS they changed their stance on that setting.

Re: Windows 10 build 1703 and Agent 5.0.5 installation fails

it worked together with updating my Agent to 5.0.5.xxx instead of 5.0.4.xxx

Thanks
