I agree. the 1920 error is seen on servers with dynamic disks and the error 5004 above is seen on workstations upgraded from 8.5 to 8.7. In the case of workstations I was able to fix them by removing VSE in add remove programs then redeploying 8.7 locally (or by ePO). Removing 8.5 by a ePO task did not work for us. I still think both issues are related though however I could be wrong.
I will try that if I do not hear anything from McAfee. As everyone has stated before this is not something that I would like to try/deal with on our 1200+ machines... Also it will be good for McAfee to get another call based on this.
Sometimes it pays to be too busy to notice the new version and only find it when they are already at SP/patch 1....
What is the KB article number that addresses the dynamic disk issue? I thought I found it and printed it a few days ago and it seems that Mcafee has changed the way you find KB articles now and I can't locate it from the links above.
I should mention that we migrating from Symantec to McAfee so some of our machines are clean installs and not 8.5 to 8.7 upgrades. I have deployed to over 500 workstations without issue and only have this problems on servers (2000 and 2003 mix)
We tested 8.7 first without issue on about 20 machines and only made the decision to use 8.7 because 8.5 did not remove Symantec anti-virus 10.1. Boy am I living to regret that choice!
