I have this situation in a international company:
Got some clients that got VSE 8.8 P1 installed (by local IT)
Got VSE 8.8P8 in "current" branch on ePO
I cant directly upgrade VSE
What i want to do/configure:
As soon as a client with that old version connects to ePO
- VSE 8.8P1 should be uninstalled
- VSE 8.8P8 should be downloaded vom ePO/Repository
I want to have the gap with no VSE as short as possible, but those systems are located out of my time-zone, so I cant do it manually.
Any idea how to configure client tasks for this ?
update client task will apply patches to VSE.. deployment task installs full versions..
assign update task to patch..
Client Task Catalog > McAfee Agent > Product Update > Chose "All Packages" (it doesn't hurt) or just "
this will look into repository for patches for VSE and install them.
It doesnt work.
There is alredy a deployment task for VSE 8.8 P8 for all systems, running on a daily schedule.
But those systems dont upgrade/install VSE 8.8P8 - i now assigned a Tag, then created a task to remove VSE once.
I dont see any other way.
Would be cool if you could chain tasks like : uninstall VSE && install VSE
Yes, but you cannot put them in dependency, e.g. IF Uninstall finished successful, then start Install.
That would be great, but it doesnt work, also i'm not sure if the topmost task really start first and waits till finished until next one starts ?
Thx tao, but P1 doesnt upgrade to anything at it seems.
So I try to do a scheduled VSE uninstall followed by a VSE 8.8P8 install, all with as smallest time-gap as possible.
Problem is, those machines are located in south-america AND local support is not very helpful at all.
