We're currently trying to increase our capability for Disaster Recovery for our ePO application and one suggestion made by our infrastructure team is implementing VMware Site Recovery Manager to replicate our ePO server to our partner data center (basically synced snapshots). We already have SQL set up for resiliency with instant failover to the partner data center in case something happens to our main data center.
Our ePO VM would get synchronized every 30 minutes to the partner data center, as well as our agent handler VMs. Server names would be retained, while IP addresses would change.
Besides any changes in the 30 minute window, are there any concerns with doing this type of DR setup? We already have a CNAME in use for the ePO server, so following the normal DR procedure was the original intent, but this idea saves our company on resources and downtime, as long as it works as intended.
