Re: Upgrate ePO 5.9 to 5.10 silent install

I always recommend stopping all 3 services, then restarting only the application server service.  That helps sometimes where tomcat takes too long to stop and should release any locks on files.

KO the installation failed.

That installed correctly when launch setup.exe manualy (withGUI) but not in script silent installation.

Re: Upgrate ePO 5.9 to 5.10 silent install

It still sees the file in use.  Are you positive that all the services stopped completely during that point in the install?  Are you sure nothing else has a lock on the file?  You can possibly turn off services and run process explorer to look for handles on that file.  Instructions for using process explorer can be found on Microsoft's page where you download it from.  Also, when you upload files, please make sure server and user names are masked, as well as IP's to protect your company info.

Re: Upgrate ePO 5.9 to 5.10 silent install

The WinAuth.dll is run with Tomcat.exe, after restarting the application service WinAuth.dll is not loaded but, it is loaded at the start of the installation.

During installation never the service tomcat "application" stopped

Re: Upgrate ePO 5.9 to 5.10 silent install

During an upgrade, the 5.9 tomcat service must stop.  It has to be started at initial start of upgrade, but the setup process will stop the process.  If that process fails to stop, install can't proceed because it has to uninstall that service and install the new 5.10 tomcat service.  If the 5.9 service fails to stop, it will hold winauth.dll and lock it.  Does the file exist or has it been renamed?

Re: Upgrate ePO 5.9 to 5.10 silent install

yes the WinAuth.dll exist and is used by tomcat service, the service never restard with silent install.

I think the silent install not detect the 5.90 service on the VM
