Uncovered Subnets questions.

Jump to solution

In the Uncovered Subnets I often see propagation of subnets like 10.9.0.0.

We have subnets internally with addresses like 10.9.25.0 but no class subnets with a .0.0 designation.

Not sure what to do with those that propagate to Uncovered Subnets.  When checking I see no unmanaged machines shown. I would just add them to ignore but I am afraid if I did it would ignore subnets with the first three octets like a 10.9.x.0.

What is best practice for VPN subnets? Covering those could add subnets for machines sitting at peoples homes.

What is the best practice for internal wireless subnets?

Thanks for your attention!

I would first suggest identifying the sensor that is reporting those subnets.  The sensor reports traffic that it can see, so you might want to identify exactly what traffic it can see.  Enabling debug logging for the sensor might help,  It can all boil down to what subnet mask is seen on the system it is seeing with that subnet.
