Unable to install VirusScan Enterprise

Jump to solution

Hi all, I'm having some trouble installing the VirusScan Enterprise 8.8.0 to one of the clients in our enterprise.

When I check the logs on the system itself, I see this:

Also, just to confirm, the client has the latest agent installed, 5.6.3.157

Can anyone tell me from these log entries where the problem is or how I can troubleshoot it further.

Thanks in advance

You can copy that from the EPO Directory:

<EPO_Install_Dir>\DB\Software\<Branch>\PointProductCode.

Inside you should see subfolders and on the last one the setup file.

C:\ProgramData\McAfee\Agent\\Current\KB_901671000\Install\0000\PkgCatalog.z failed

Setup_KB90167.exe

This does not look like a VSE Package. Can you confirm that you are trying to install VSE? If yes, please run a task from EPO with only the VSE Full install package selected. Once it fails to execute,  provide us the masvc and mcscript log file with the time stamp, We will review it and confirm.

You can also try to manually install the VSE on one of the system as part of the diagnostic. We can see if MSI Installer gives us some more info in event logs once it fails to execute a script.

Hi,

As far as I can tell, the client task is running the deployment for VSE.

Where can I find the VSE installer to attempt a manual installation?

Thanks in advance

Setup_KB90167.exe. Is this EEDK package?
