we are facing similar issue where endpoints are not updating agent and ENS
In our particular case we were forcing local distributed repository to deploy the updates, once we enabled all the repositories to be able do deploy software in the (Mcafee agent repository policy) we got sucess,
We think is some concurrent issue within the distributed repository ...have you made this analisys ?
Did you check out my previous post. I will copy paste once again.
Lot of third party .DLL injection in McAfee process.
Also can you what are these DLL files.
PGPLSP.DLL and PGPMAPIH.DLL
We had the same issue, Threat protection on the EPO server was blocking the install to the clients.
Run the task again check the threat log, disable threat protection and try it again.
I can see there are a lot of people commenting about seeing the same issue however we need to bear in mind that there are many reasons this issue can occur, the most frequent cause is that the repository can't be reached due to a network restriction. The log you'll want to look in is the mcscript log and then look for "Unable to find valid repository". You'll likely see some curl errors.
Discussing this in the forum is not likely to yield one solution for all. There are a few KB articles which may help - to name a few:
If you are unable to locate the error in the log or need assistance. I would encourage you to enable McAfee Agent Debug Logging, reproduce the issue and submit the client MER to Technical Support as a McAfee Agent Support Case.
In my case there is curl error 7 .
But when we check for connection problem , there everything works fine, it is not connection problem .
50 out of 200 WS have that problem .
Not all of them.
I will enable McAfee Agent Debug Logging and see what is there .
Curl Error 7 would indicate "Failed to connect() to host or proxy.". Do you use a proxy in your environment? If yes, do you have it configured within your McAfee Agent policy?
How did you verify the Network? Does a telnet to the mentioned repository using port 443 work?
Thanks for the update. Check out this KB too:
There is a whole section on curl error 7.
Like I said, if none of this helps. Please do enable debug and open a case with the McAfee Agent team.
