If you right click on the VSE shield and do an update now, does it try to pull the update package and reference your EPO server?

If not, a quick one to try which almost works as often as 'have you turned it off and on again' is to uninstall the agent and redploy it, either from EPO directly or create the FramePkg.exe from the System Tree.
