Software Deployments

I need to be able to disable AV and AS while deploying software to remote systems. Is there a command line option to stop the services even though I have a policy set to not allow Mcafee services to be stopped.

Some software requires all AV and firewall software to be disable during installation. How are others handling these cases with system wide installations? Do you change the policy during distribution and send wake up calls?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Software Deployments

you would have to change the access protection policy first.

you could script getting macfee to check in and update policy
then wait
then stop services
then install software you are wanting installed
then start services
then though you will be stuck with the policy off till you have finished though...
