Server, Extension, Client Module Upgrades - Order of Operation

Dear All,

I got the assignment to update all of our installed McAfee client modules (Agent, EPS, FRP, ...) to the latest versions. In Software Manager, I see that there are also updates available for the related Product Extensions like FRP, DLP, EPS. Also, we are running a flavor of ePO 5.9 at the moment and could upgrade to 5.10.x

My preference would be to work bottom-up, first client then extensions then server. Is that the recommended way to go?

Hi FA1,

Before you upgrade product on client machine, extension should be upgraded first. Incase if any of the internal component has upgraded in latest product build, only extensions would know how to read and update in EPO. You can refer the below articles which contains information related supported platforms, support Agent/EPO version.

Since DLP/FRP is complex product, i would suggest you to check log a case with DLP team to know more about upgradation process.

Ex : If you are using DLP 9.3 and would like to upgrade to latest, there is some procedure which you have to follow.
