Hello Team,
we are setting up SMTP email from ePO, but it looks like ePO has username length limitation. The username is generated by cloud service so it can't be changed.
Our current username length is 164 long Characters.
What is the maximum username length McAfee Support. We don't have issues with any other application but McAfee.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I would suggest opening ticket so we can get this to dev. CU11 fixed an issue with passwords not able to be added for IEC 62443 compliance due to same limitation. So we would need to do the same for username.

Thanks for the quick response.
That is exactly the issue. When we copy the username and paste, ePO can only hold 100 characters. We see authentication error in the log.
Is McAfee Application username length for smtp is compliance with RFC?
Im not quiet sure i follow the question, which RFC do you have in mind?
RFC compliance for username, email address length e.t.c. Sorry I am communicating with our cloud service team.
which RFC number are you referring to please? 🙂
I am waiting to get a response. But looking at online - RFC 5321 seems to be the one they may referring to.
regarding to the maximum nvarchar 100 limitation. Is that SQL DB limitation or ePO application. If the database limitation is not nvarchar 100, is that possible to increase from 100 to 200?
According to OrionUsersMT, maximum Name nvarchar is 100, but SQL shows nvarchar length 200. Does this mean ePO application needs to be updated to support for our needs?
That is OrionUsersMT users nvarchar is defined as 100 on our schema, we don't support manual changes to the schema.
I think this sounds more like an enhancement request (product Idea KB60021) but let me confirm this today internally and i will get back to you
Regards
Alejandro
