Run batch file thru a client task

Jump to solution

I have about 60 machines that need a registry modification to correct missing VSE status information.  Referring to KB article # KB60593 to correct this problem, I wrote a batch file that determines whether the O\S is 32 or 64 bit and then runs the correct REG hack to change the value from "8" to "0".

My question, Is it possible to initiate\run a batch command using the ePO thru a client task to do this?  It would seem there must be a way to do this, but I'm stumped.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Hello,

Yes you can deploy any package and scripts from ePO console. McAfee EEDK tool will help you.

First you have to convert batch file into McAfee deployment package with help of EEDK tool (packaging tool for creating ePO deployable packages). After conversion you need to check into ePO master repository where you can deploy it to machines.

Like ansarias said, you can use EEDK, but its not the easiest to setup.

Why not just use GPO or if you guys have a patching tool like SCCM?
