If you want to see agent activity on a client you just need to open the local agent monitor.
R-click the McAfee icon and select 'McAfee Agent Activity Monitor'
...Or run cmdagent.exe /s to see the same.
AVIView is also very, very old, and probably no longer very useful. (I certainly haven't used it *at all* for at least five years.)
What are you trying to achieve with it? What information do you want to see?
I use AVIView all the time, but then I'm a developer . Agent Monitor only shows a small subset of all the logging messages. The other advantage of AVIView is that it merges all the logging together in real time, so you can see what the agent, McScript, naprdmgr, and udaterui are all doing and in exactly what order relative to each other.
On the other hand, if you're escalating a probem to engineering, don't send us AVIView logs; get a MER. I have a tool that will merge all the logs in the MER after the fact similar to how AVIView merges them in real time.
