Required Cipher Suite for ePO server - SQL server connection

We are using ePO 5.10 upd 9 in an on-prem environment. The DBs are installed on a server that is separate from from the ePO application server.

Our current goal is to restrict the number of available ciphers on the DB server. Hence what we would need is the smallest possible set of ciphers that are needed to allow ePO to connect to the DB server. Obviously, we would prefer to use the set that consists of the most secure ciphers.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thankn you very much in advance!

Re: Required Cipher Suite for ePO server - SQL server connection

There are 2 kb's that list out the requirements that you would want in place for sql and epo servers.

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91296 is for ciphers required on epo and any agent handlers for communication from apache to tomcat

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91304 is for ciphers required for connection to the sql database for the epo and sql servers.

You don't need all of them enabled, but you do need to have them in common with each other, at least one or 2 from each list the same on all the servers.
