Sounds like you have permission problem.

step1) make sure you do not have permission problem.

step2) make sure you are using the correct agent for the correct OS.

step3) Windows, Mac or Linux installation procedures are different. It is not one size fits all 🙂

Also check the server.log in your ePO server and see whether you are seeing any relevant error or not ?
