Purge Threat and Client Events Older than 90 Days

Jump to solution

Hello,

Our ePO is managing around 12k systems, and "Purge Threat and Client Events Older than 90 Days" is disabled. What is the recommendation for purging events?
Is it OK that we keep the event for 12-15 months with this amount of systems?
Can it cause any degradation on SQL server?

Thank you!

You can retain as many as you like, just be aware of space requirements for storing them.  The additional thing to look at is performance.  You will need to make sure to run maintenance task regularly to keep indexes defragmented.  KB67184 is for recommended maintenance.  You can also set up a rollup server to pull the events to that one for longer data retention (see product guide for that).  Then for production server, it can retain much less for better performance.
