We have an epo server version 5.10 update 13 where the server task fails which should delete all events older than 90 days. We have also tried to increase the deletion interval from 90 to 180 or even 270 days or to set the task to the weekend during the day or at night without any success.
The Orion.log contains the following error messages regarding the purge task.
2022-05-04T05:49:36,990 ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-2213] service.ScheduledTaskManagerImpl - execution of task Purge Threat and Client Events Older than 90 Days failed2022-05-04T05:49:36,990 ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-2213] service.ScheduledTaskManagerImpl - execution of task Purge Threat and Client Events Older than 90 Days failedcom.mcafee.orion.core.cmd.CommandException: Cannot continue the execution because the session is in the kill state. at
What can we do so that the purge task completes successfully and the old events are deleted? The SQL database is about 260 GB in size.
Re: Purge Server Task failed on epo 5.10 Update 13
If purging the events manually first time doesn't help, please open a ticket with us. Sometimes it helps when there are a lot of events, to purge first via sql, then epo server task after that to maintain it on a daily basis so there is much less to purge.
