Permissions to change policy assignments on systems but not edit policies

Jump to solution

Is there a way where I can grant a permission set the ability to modify any policy assignments without giving the ability to modify policies? When using the permission set I am trying to grant this to, some policy assignments are editable but not others. Screenshot below:

Ok, the setting to view and change settings must be enabled on each point product to be able to edit assignment.  However, that cannot be separated from permission to also edit policies or create new.  That would be an enhancement request - kb60021.

Is this on prem epo or mvision?  Are the policies assigned at a group the user doesn't have access to?  Have the point product permissions been granted for each product?  Does audit log show anything regarding lack of permissions?

On Prem - Users have permissions from My Organization down through the entire system tree in the permission set. Didn't see anything useful in the audit log. I have some new people in a role where I want them to be able to change the assignments on any system but I don't want them to be able to modify policies. The screenshot I attached was me logged in with an ID tied to the same permission set. It shows I can modify some but not all. That screenshot was to a random system I chose.

What are the permission settings for each of the point products?  For example, each point product would need this set:

McAfee Agent : Policy

Orion log might possibly show something too.

In looking at the permission set settings, that would allow them to edit policies.  I will have to test that and get back with you.
