Permissions for McAfee Endpoint Security Sys Trap icon

Jump to solution

Hi.

I am looking for where to set permissions to stop users from accessing the sys Tray icon and making changes.

I have gone into Policy Catalog - Endpoint Security Threat Prevention - On demand Scan and edited the My Default' policy. I checked 'Allow users to disable on-access scan from the McAfee system try icon.

But this still allows a domain user to disable it in the system tray on a client.

The tray Icon is controlled by  Mcafee Agent, as such you could modify the MA > General policy to do not show the Tray Icon and prevent users from modifying :

Thank you for you quick response

So does this mean there is no way to make it read only so it can be seen but not edited?

Then possibly the best option is to "lock the ENS console", that is indeed controlled by the ENS policy:

you could add a password so the end users cant modify the console and the tray icon it will still be visible
