Hi folks,
While updating the ENS packages to 10.7 via Software Manager I was trying to get rid of the still shown versions of 10.5 and 10.6.
For testing purpose I even removed all the files within D:\Program Files\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\SoftwareManager. But they appeared again in Software Manager.
Interestingly in the list of 10.7 there is no entry in the column for checked in version. Only in both the lists of 10.5 and 10.6 I can see that there are indeed the 10.7 versions checked in.
By the way, there are products like Client Proxy with listed versions from 2.34 to 3.00 (7 different versions!) while only the latest is actually checked in. This is kind of ridiculous.
So far I didn't find any information on this either in the knowledge base or the community. The described behaviour doesn't make sense to me. And of course you have to scroll through a much larger list, an unnecessary long list. So is there any possibility to stop Software Manager from showing the entries of former/older versions?
Thanks in advance!

ePO 5.10 introduced that feature in the software catalog. There is now a checkbox for "Hide older versions if not installed"

The Software Manager gives you access to all the McAfee provide you are authorized to download based on your Grant Number. It removes the need to access the McAfee Product Download website to retrieve new McAfee software and software updates.
You may also check in the previous versions of the product if needed.

Thanks for the quick replies, guys!
I understand (now better) what the Software Manager is for. I know as well that it doesn't show the downloaded or checked in software only. But still I'd like to have the possibility to only see the latest plus maybe the second latest version shown in this view.
Since it doesn't seem to be intended yet, is there a chance to raise a feature request for hiding products/versions? That would make it easier to scroll through them and find the important ones.
Thanks in advance again!
Yes you can submit your ideas and feature enhancement request to our McAfee product via PER (Product enhancement request).

You can't remove products from software manager. Those are available products to download based on your grant number. Just because they show there doesn't mean you have them actually downloaded and checked in.
