Moving ePO installation from One Disk Volume to another

Jump to solution

Hi Team,

I need to move ePO installation from one Disk Volume to another on the same server. I am doing this because the current volume is not expandable to increase disk space size.

Question :

what is the best approach to do this?

Be sure you have all backups per kb66616.

This can be accomplished using the snapshot disaster recovery process.  Are you familiar with that?

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/epolicy-orchestrator-5.10.0-product-guide/page/GUID-1AA5D288-1517-498...

This can be used to install to different drive or different server.

Pretty much follow DR procedure, correct?

Yes, that is correct.  Just be sure you know the DR password first.  If you are not sure of it, reset it in server settings, then run another snapshot recovery task in epo to save that to db, then backup db and file system.  The file system backup per kb66616 is a must in case, for any reason, the snapshot recovery fails.

If that ever becomes necessary (hopefully not), then you would follow https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB71078 in your case due to different path.  The DR process using snapshot recovery doesn't need any path modifications, it will take care of that automatically.
