Move existing DMZ Agent Handler to new hardware ?

Is it possible to backup an existing DMZ Agent Handler from an old system to restore it on a "new" system ?

Plan is to exchange an old system with a new one, giving the new one the same SYSTEMNAME and IP Adress, since there are a lot of exisiting firewall rules etc. in place.

Is there a way to backup/restore an Agent Handler ?

Re: Move existing DMZ Agent Handler to new hardware ?

What I do, e.g. replacement of the agent handler in DMZ with a different operating system:

  1. Current Windows 2012 DMZ agent handler
  2. Install a new Windows 2016 server with different IP
  3. shutdown the old windows 2012 DMZ agent handler server
  4. Update the IP address of the Windows 2016 agent handler server into the IP of the old windows 2012 server
  5. Install the McAfee agent handler software in the Windows 2016 server
  6. In the ePO console open Menu and Agent handlers and handler list, update the external DNS name and IP of the Windows 2016 server.
  7. And ready no firewall changes and the communication between the clients and agent handler in the DMZ still works well.

To add to that, there is no disaster recovery type for an agent handler. You just need to reinstall it after you have renamed the new system as desired.
