McAfee System Tray Icon on Servers

Hi,

I've noticed that on our servers, the icon that shows in the system tray only shows as a VirusScan icon, where as the laptops and desktops show the McAfee Shield icon.

Is there a way that the icon on the servers can look the same as on the laptops and desktops?

Any help would be great!

Make sure you have set your server policy to display the Icon

The "M" shield will not display on 64-bit systems with McAfee Agent v4.0

I checked the settings and we do have it set to display the icon.  Our servers though are 64-bit so I'm guessing that is the issue.

Are they going to have a fix for this issue?

If you are using MA v4.0 Patch 1,2, or 3 then no it won't display.

If you are using MA v4.5 and above it should display with the caveats in the about KB's I sent.

We are using MA 4.5.1852. 

Seems like we have the settings correct in the policy.  Would there be anywhere else to check?  The servers are Windows Server 2008 R2.

Are these Itanium systems?  If so it won't display.  See KB below.

Nope, not Itanium systems.

Then I'd double-check your policies. Making sure the servers are getting the policy and they have MA v4.5 and above.

You are logging on locally right?  The icon will not display via a terminal server session unless you logon using console session 0

Can't think of anything else.

Ah, the issue is that I'm remoting in to those servers and not doing it through the console session.  Sorry, I do see that in the first article now.  I went into our server room and logged in on the KVM and it displayed.

Sorry for my confusion on that.  I should've seen that right away.
