Hi,
I've checked in the McAfee Agent 5.5.1.342 version into ePO 5.3.3 (Build 279).
When I try to deploy it to a Windows machine, ePO reports that the task expired, but the Agent is correctly installed on the system.
Has anyone seen this problem?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I will have to install a fresh new ePO on a new server.
I would suggest opening a ticket with McAfee so we can review logs. We don't advise posting logs here, as they can contain sensitive company information. KB88008 describes your issue, but you already have the version of epo that resolves that issue.

Do you see the issue only with MA deployment or with data channel communication also?
Please check KB89858
Hey guys,
Thanks for replying.
I've checked my server (Windows Server 2008 SP2) and indeed it has that data channel problem.
But I've tried to use the workaround and no joy...
The funny thing is that I had to use that tool so I could update ePO, the fix was to click on the "Best practices" button.
PS: I also have tried to open a support ticket, but when I try, it says that I have no Support Entitlement. We have renewed it last month.
You may have to update grant number info on the service portal or call customer service to fix that for you. There are many reasons for datachannel issues, so it might be better to open a ticket, even if you have to call in to do so rather than open a ticket on the service portal.

Thanks! I'm waiting for the working hours of the customer service to call them.

Thanks - please upload a mer from an affected client and the epo server. When you run the mer (mer.mcafee.com), be sure to run as administrator and choose the specific products you are collecting for instead of choosing all products.
Also, get a screenshot of the output of this query:
Select * from OrionTaskQueueMT where taskdescription like '%dbclean%' or taskdescription like '%task.queue%'
Wait one minute, run it again and get second screenshot.
Are you using drive encryption or any other products that use user based policies? If so, in server settings, user policies, is database mirroring enabled? Put all that info in the case and I will check it out.

Yes, it may take a while. For the epo server you would choose epo, but for a client that has the issue, you would choose the mcafee agent as well as any antivirus software also installed.
