MCAFEEENDPOINTPRODUCTREMOVAL.EXE

I got a security alert that MCAFEEENDPOINTPRODUCTREMOVAL.EXE was executed on one of my servers. I did not run it. Is there a reason why ePO will run the removal tool?

Re: MCAFEEENDPOINTPRODUCTREMOVAL.EXE

If it is checked in, someone could have run it through epo task, otherwise you might want to check the removal tool log to see where it was run locally from (user profile, etc).  That isn't something that would run automatically.

Spoiler
It is checked in, but I am the only one with access and I did not run it. Could there be a policy that did it? also, where can I find the removal tool log? Thanks

Re: MCAFEEENDPOINTPRODUCTREMOVAL.EXE

That would be in the windows\temp\mcafeelogs folder, unless someone else ran it locally - then it would be located in the user's profile temp folder under mcafeelogs.  You can look at the application event log also to see when an msiinstaller operation ran to run anything around the time you got the alert for.
