Datachannel service allows point products to communicate with their extension by providing a bi-directional secure communication transport layer.  These are sent every 10 seconds and has 4 types of messages that it sends and receives.

MsgAvailable is sent from epo to client when there are items epo has to hand over to the point product.

MsgRequest is sent to epo only after receiving the msgavailable from epo, which then epo responds with MsgResponse

MsgUpload sends the datachannel items to epo.

As for exactly what is sent and received, that all depends on what software is installed.  Software like Solidcore, Encryption, and possibly others have more datachannel communications than others due to the nature of their software and policy types (user based policies), etc.

Bottom line, it is normal traffic.  Datachannel was introduced to carry that type traffic in a separate channel than normal asci traffic.  Wakeup calls, run client task now, and other functions work through the datachannel.
