Is it possible to have an alert sent when a McAfee service (application/eventparser/agent) stops?

I have been searching to see if it were possible to have a email notification sent if a McAfee Service (application/eventparser/agent) has stopped, is there a method to have this sent by McAfee Event ID?

If the agent service stops, it can't send an event to notify epo it isn't running, so that is not an option.  You might be better off to have some Windows service monitoring rather than depend on epo to do that.  If epo services are down, it can't send any alerts either.

You'd need something like solarwinds to monitor services or you can create a powershell script that will run and poll the services you want to monitor at an interval and if it is in a stopped state it will pop a message box on the screen for a user to contact someone. We've done the same for when definitions are out of date so we don't have to constantly be querying epo for outdated systems.

Not a great option for servers since people are not constantly logged into them which is why we've used a traditional managed system monitoring product for things like that. Another option would be to run a task with a system management product like SCCM that will throw systems that fit whatever criteria you want into a dynamic group or send a scheduled report that someone will look at.
