How to remove policy and client task catalog?

Jump to solution

We upgraded to MSME 8.6 overnight. I removed MSME 8.5 extension but the 8.5 policy and client tasks are still showing up in ePO.

I would validate with your team internally why it is currently enabled to make sure no one else is working on any extensions; but it sounds like 'policy and task retention' is enabled.    You can disable this via:  MENU > Server settings > Policy and task retention.  Usually this setting is only enabled temporarily to remove and reinstall an extension.

Thank you, we had the retention policy enabled. I have disabled it.

Is there a cleanup task that needs to be run afterwards to remove the policies?

I would know the most about ePO in our company, we are a small team.

edit: Worked it out, I checked in 8.5 extension and report into ePO and remove them. 8.5 policy and client task are now removed.

Depending on the ePO version it can differ slightly, however the easiest way would be to re-check in the extension and then remove it again. This will automatically pull the policies and tasks now that 'Task retention is disabled.'
