Hi Team,

Could you please guide how to create a Mcafee antivirus update policy for users machines.

I mean how to update all client's machine antivirus via a single policy in Mcafee EPO.

I believe you wanted to McAFee Antivirus through client task isn't it....?

What is the AV are you using. You can create Client product deployment task to upgrade AV to latest.

* Download the latest Package from Software Manager

* Select a single machine by selecting the target machine-->actions-->agent-->modify task on a single system-->create a new client task assignment-->Agent-->product deployment-->new client task-->select the downloaded package-->save-->run immediately and then save.

* If you want to assign a task to entire system in your network-->Under system tree select "My organization"-->click Assigned client task then select New client task assignment at the bottom-->Agent-->product deployment-->new client task-->select the downloaded package-->save-->Based on your requirement configure the schedule time and then save.

There is one option called Default Client Update task.

The Default Client Update task downloads the most current protection to the Endpoint Security Client.

Endpoint Security includes the Default Client Update task that runs every day at 1:00 a.m. and repeats every four hours until 11:59 p.m.

The Default Client Update task:

1. Connects to the first enabled source site in the list.

   If this site isn't available, the task contacts the next site until it connects or reaches the end of the list.

2. Downloads an encrypted CATALOG.Z file from the site.

   The file contains information required to perform the update, including available files and updates.

3. Checks the software versions in the file against the versions on the computer and downloads any new available software updates.

If the Default Client Update task is interrupted during the update:

Updates from...	If interrupted...
HTTP, UNC, or a local site	Resumes where the update left off the next time the update task starts.
FTP site (single-file download)	Doesn't resume if interrupted.
FTP site (multiple-file download)	Resumes before the file that was being downloaded at the time of the interruption.
