How to change timezone on McAfee ePO?

Jump to solution

Hi,

The configured timezone on my ePO is PDT, but I want to change it to UTC+7. Can I do it on this platform or the ePO server?

Thank you.

Hi @sanba06c,

The time zone from ePO console will depend on the system time.

If you change the time zone from windows and restart the server, the ePO console will reflects the same time zone as per windows.

Something I found out - JRE uses its own time zone rules instead of the system clock. The time zone rules are typically updated only when ePO is updated to use the latest version of JRE.  Or you can reset it manually.  You can't update Java manually on the server, it has to come in the form of an update.  EPO update 8 has a java update in it.

Set the correct JRE time zone in the Windows registry
  1. Click Start, Run, type regedit, and click OK.
  2. Navigate to and select the key below:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\MCAFEETOMCATSRV200\Parameters\Java

  3. In the right pane, double-click Options to edit the settings (Key type is: REG_MULTI_SZ).
  4. On a new line in the Value Data field, type following string (including the hyphen):

    -Duser.timezone=

  5. At the end of the string, type the needed time zone from the list below, then click OK.
    Example:

    -Duser.timezone=Brasilia

NOTE: Include only the time zone, not the time difference as well. For example, use -Duser.timezone=Europe/Berlin, not -Duser.timezone=Europe/Berlin +1 (Central European Time) for the entry.

@Dakshayini ,

Can you confirm this is the case? You can refer to the screenshot below: Screenshot - 4_21_2020 , 9_45_19 AM.png

I contacted ePO admin, but he claimed that might be the time that the "local ePO" contacted with the "parent ePO".

What version of ePO you are using? If  5.10 then we can set timezone from ePO UI (Configuration->Personal settings->Time Zone Preference)

@Hem , yeah I've had done this, but it seemed not the case. In this situation, I want to have a scheduled report exported according to local timezone. However, it followed the configured timezone on the ePO server.

So, I'm facing the same problem.

The ePO server is 1 hour ahead the server time.
