HIPS missing from Managed Features list in McAfee Agent

I've got McAfee Agent 4.5.1499 (Patch 1 build) and HIPS 7.0.0.1102 (Patch 7) installed (via task from ePO). When I right-click the McAfee Agent and select About... I can see HIPS listed. However if I select Managed Features I only see VirusScan. I've removed/installed HIPS more than once via ePO but no joy. I'm running Windows 7 x64.

Is this an 'undocumented' feature?

not using HIPS, just would like to correct that it is not "Managed" but "Manage Feature", which I assume means that products that has an interface for settings locally, appears on this list. Perhaps HIPS does not have an interface to manage locally or is set in the policy to not show this interface.

No that's definitely not it. For XP computers the Manage Features shows HIPs and VirusScan

Same issue here on epo 4.5, Windows 7 32bit client. Vista clients are ok. Will log a call with mcafee....

hi, having the same issue to.  Win 7 32 bit with MA4.5 and HIPS 7 patch 8.  Either of you guys found a fix?

call logged with McAfee platinum support. Will update as soon as I've any info.

Glad you tried patch 8, saves me having to do so. I actually suspect the problem is with the McAfee Agent, owing to the fact that it doesn't impact XP computers. But that's just a hunch

Have you made sure the policy is set to show it?

Policy Catalog > Host Intrusion Prevention 7.0.5:General > Client UI > Display options > Show tray icon

May be wrong here, but thats what I had to do to get it to view in 'Manage Features'.

We already have that setting thanks. It's only the Win7 boxes that Manage Features does not list HIPs

For 64-bit systems, the Host IPS tray icon will show outside of the McAfee Agent tray icon.  KB66127.  I believe this will be addressed in a future Host IPS version.
