From EPO server We have scheduled 4 times EEPC/AD sync task.
The problem is that task keeps "In Progress" in my Server Task Log and I am able to terminate it.but even the task is not terminating.
still it is showing in progress status.

We are currently running EPO console 4.6.8 version.
First, the terminate task option will work in EPO 4.6.8 version or not?
And Second, is there any SQL query to terminate the " In progress" task?
Currently we are using EPO Console 4.6.8 Version.
For us it will take some time to upgrade 5.1.1. I have seen SQL query in McAfee community for my issue 2 months ago.
Later I have checked the same.I haven't noticed that one. Its very helpful to terminate my task without restart the server /services.
In our environment we are using 8 EPO servers. If you give the SQL query to terminate the server task does not expire after reaching abort time.
Kindly check and update me.
I not sure if this relates to your issue, but we experienced this last year with some issues around Time Zones and Hour changes.
Im do know if this has any effect on your systems but we followed this KB which resolved our issue.

This problem persists in 5.1.1 so I wouldn't rush your upgrade. I tried the sql fix but didn't work for me. If I restart the services or reboot the epo server the task tries to pick up from where it left and stay running indefinitely. If I try to terminate the task it stays at pending termination indefinitely.
As this stop new machines from automatically getting virusscan I consider this a huge problem as we have to manually install on computers.
Together with the problems I'm having with v5 of the agent I've nearly lost all faith with McAfee, have used them for 6 years it just seems to get worse.
Please don't advise me to log a support call as I've already tried this when I had same problem with epo 5.1.0 which was a waste of time as I knew I need the KB79875 hotfix, but was told by support that I couldn't have it. Managed to get hotfix from someone else on here and hey presto it fixed the problem. Why hasn't there been a hotfix for the same issue on 5.1.1. Not sure I can wait for 5.1.2 for the fix.
I'm having the same problem as harris_s I am running ePO 5.9.1 and the SQL fix appears to work but as soon as I reboot the server or flip the services the task re-appears as if I had done nothing
I have seen the KB article and also I have tried to search the table in my current EPO version 4.6.8 database. No information is available in our current DB table.
I want temporary workaround for my current EPO version. Is their any SQL query to terminate the server task does not expire after reaching abort time?
