EPO 5.1 RSD 4.7.2 PUSH Install Fails on different Subnet with Repository

Did an upgrade months ago to EPO 5 & 5.1 Update software as needed / when it was available. (ePO Build: ePolicy Orchestrator 5.1.0 (Build: 509))

I did not have to do a "push" RSD install until recently. Every time I attempt a RSD Install from either a task or the menu RSD Install it fails. I can clear the task and try again, it fails. I can try it on numerous other machines on different subnets it still fails. No matter what it still happens. All Subnets have a "Full" repository. The Devices get the software and the install starts:

Here is what the CMA / McAfee Agent shows everytime:

Update Finished

Clients are all Windows 7 pro x64

What I have done:

Removed and Rebuilt the Distributed Repositories. (confirmed / watched to see what repo was being used).

Removed McAfee VSE 8.8 prior to the push.

Removed the McAfee Agent (4.8.0.1500) Reinstalled manually

Copy the Folder structure that is located in the repository local and ran the install:

copied from the EPO Server (C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\Software\Current\RSD_____4700\Install\0000) to local C:\ of client machine in question.
Ran the installer manual. Triggered an update from the MCAFEE Agent.

Everything works fine this way.

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

Patrick

On an affected client machine, check the mcscript.log - this logs details about tasks like install and upgrade tasks, and may give you more information about what's going wrong.

After more testing on more machines, I can say that The "Subnet" has nothing to do with it, I finally was able to recreate the issue on a workstation in the same building. Still the same issue however.

I will enable a different level of DEBUG and look again...

Re: EPO 5.1 RSD 4.7.2 PUSH Install Fails on different Subnet with Repository

OK, this shows that the agent is correctly invoking the task, but the sensor install itself is returning an error.

In the Windows temp folder, you should have a McAfeeLogs folder containing the sensor install log, which will be called something likeRSD-install-msi.log. Check this log - it may give a better idea of why the install is failing on the client. (If you wish, zip and attach the log here and we can take a look.)

Thanks -
