EPO 4.0 install with SQL Express used port 1044 instead of 1433
I am currently testing the best way of installing EPO 4.0. This morning, I decided to perform a fresh install. during the install, I selected the option to install "SQL Express". It selected TCP Port 1044 for the SQL port. This looked odd to me as it should be port 1433. This is also documented in the EPO install guide. The installation did not give me any options to change it since the port field was greyed out.
RE: EPO 4.0 install with SQL Express used port 1044 instead of 1433
By default ePO installs SQL Express as a named instance called EPOSERVER. Port 1433 is reserved for the default instance of SQL and so is not available to a named instance, so the ePO installer (I believe) starts looking for the first available port starting at 1040.
