Hi sidhinks,

Interesting..am not sure where are they coming from. I need to check internally and update you shortly. Also i see the DAT is very old. Do you see different time for latest Amcore Content.

Was my reply helpful?

Re: Different amcore content date for same amcore content version

Are those systems in different time zones?  Mine have different dates also - that might be the time it was installed on the system.  I looked at the client events on my systems and that seems to match up for when they were updated.

Re: Different amcore content date for same amcore content version

Hi cdinet,

thats a good point and i checked

In the attached screenshot, i have three amcore content release times and these three machines are in 3 different timezones

Yellow- Pacific Time

Green - Mountain Time

Blue - Central Time

But shouldnt these be same when they are converted to EDT which is my server timezone

Amcore content date is the time when the content is released from McAfee servers, right?

In that case, for a particular Amcore content version, date and time should be all the same when converted to EDT which is not happening now for me.

I faced issues particularly when i ran compliance reports as i had configured criteria of amcore content date within last 24 hours and some systems will be out of compliance because of this time difference

Looking for your suggestions

thank you

Sid

Re: Different amcore content date for same amcore content version

What version of epo are you running and if 5.10, what update is installed?  I am seeing the same differences - at first I thought it was the time the system updated, because it happened to match on some, but I just did a pull and an update on one system.  The amcore content date/time didn't match checkin or client update time.  So, I would suggest opening a ticket so we can see what is going on.  I would start with the ENS team since that is their update and table.

Re: Different amcore content date for same amcore content version

Caryn,

Just discovered with customer yesterday and began analysis. Their  ePO team is working out of Hungary and India so it will be tomorrow before we can discuss opening an SR. If they don't want to open an SR, is there a process where I could open one internally as a PS Consultant?

I did a little more digging this morning and did some additional date conversions.  The attached Excel file provides two streams of data. Line 5 converts the DAT GMT date/time to the local time for the 5 time zones. Those dates/times are copied into Column I (DAT Local) for the second table in rows 7-12. The second table then shows each of the sites, their time zone, their GMT offset and the date/time shown in the ePO console. Lastly, the last column shows the client local time zone converted back to EST (the time zone for the ePO server) and that all of those conversions convert back to the same date time.

A couple of other notes.

1) The DAT GMT was 13:24:00 and all of the conversions stayed within the same day. However, the ePO display date shows different dates (crossed over the midnight boundary during a calculation).

2) FLE is the timezone for Flensburg Germany which should be the same as Central Europe Time (CET) with GMT+1 but there's an hour difference between the two. Suspect that's just an incorrect/outdated time zone table.

Do you have a grant number?  You can create a case with your grant number, it doesn't have to be theirs necessarily as long as you provide the necessary data to troubleshoot that shows the issue.

Re: Different amcore content date for same amcore content version

My customer has same issue - ePO 5.9.1.  Based on KB87405, the AMCore content date used for the within 7-day compliance date is the date the content was compiled/released in GMT.  But, based on my customer data, it looks like ePO is doing multiple date conversions. The ePO is in EST and I have 5 client samples in different time zones. All of the content dates displayed in ePO are different for each time zone but all are reported in EST. It looks like ePO is converting the GMT content date/tine to the client local date/time and then converting that to EST date/time.  Using DAT 3897 as an example, my local PC (EST, GMT-5) has 11/19/2019 13:24:00 GMT in the registry, ENS About shows 11/19/2019 8:24AM EST. (Note India [IST] has a x:30 minute time zone offset so the x:24 to x:54 matches)

For my ePO samples I have:

Time ZoneePO Date DisplayePO Time Display
IST11/18

9:54:00pm EST

FLE11/191:24:00am EST
EST11/198:24:00am EST
CST11/189:54:00pm EST
CES11/192:24:00am EST

Did anyone ever open a ticket for this so we can get a good answer from dev?
