Decommission old 4.6 server after migration to 5.0

Jump to solution

We have successfully migrated from EOP 4.6to 5.0 on another server using the method of transferring the keys, polices and Systems to the new EPO sever. EPO 5.0 has been running for some time and I would like to decommission the old server. Is there a proper procedure to remove the old sever from the environment or can I just shut it down? My Google-Fu is failing me.

From the point of view of ePO providing all works well on the new server just turn off the old one.

Obviously you may have plenty of specific decom procedures internally you would want to do (scrubbing HDs etc.).  The only additional thing outside the normal is that if you used a new server name, you may want to create a DNS entry of the old name pointing to the new IP address.  This could help if there were any stray agents or if someone goofed up an image etc.
