Copy all settings from ePO 4.6.8(2008) to ePO 5.10(Server 2016)

Jump to solution

Hi all

I have the task of replicating all the settings that have been made on a previous Server 2008 network on the current server 2016 network we have.

So far I've worked out how to export exclusions and how turn off sciptscan.   There are probably lots of other settings that should be copied over also.

The 2008 server had VirusScan 8.8 on where the 5.10 version has MVISION endpoint 2107 so any settings from Virusscan also need to be set up in the later version somehow also I presume.

Anyone know the best way to get everything needed copied over so they are as alike as can be?

Many thanks

Things that are exportable -

policies and policy assignments
client tasks and client task assignments
system tree structure and systems
tags
policy assignment rules
permission sets

There are probably a few other things, but those are main things.  The things to consider - if software is not the same (tasks and policies for software no longer supported in 5.10), some things may fail to import.  When you import tags, the tag ID's will change, so if any tasks or policy assignments are based on tags, you might have to reset those to correct tags.  If software versions are different for deployment tasks, you will need to modify the tasks to point to the desired versions.  The product guide should show you how to export the different items.  You might have to search around for different items.
