Hello ewas,

we recommend always changing it from the core/config page as it has the benefit of testing the connection to the DB and once you restart the services the password will be encrypted on the db.properties file

Hello @ewas \

Thanks for your post.

Whatever you are seeing in db.properties that is the replica from Core/config page.

If you are able to access the core/config page please change it from there only.

If in case core/config is not opening in that case try to change the password from db.properties.

Have message you the format for changing the password from db.properies.

Thanks.

It's always recommended to update credentials from \core\config.

We have be enough cautious when we are modifying db.prop files (always backup). In case you have even 1% confusion, better to approach support.
